Can you tell us about your experience in the field of information security and compliance?

I have close to 17 years of comprehensive experience in the fields of Cyber & Information Security, Risk Management, Governance & Compliance, Data Protection & Privacy, Security Audits, and Process Improvement & Optimisations. As someone who has dominantly practised these fields in India, which is considered the mecca of IT, I can say that I am fortunate to say that I have seen the whole landscape of information security and compliance modernise, and this has played a key role in designing and managing rapid digital transformations and strategising novel security needs. With the plethora of challenges that we associate with evolving tech, its omnipresence, and its proliferating importance in our lives, I have had to continually develop not only a deep understanding of progressing market trends, but also the sustainability and economic effectiveness of security compliance for a business, with varying budgetary boundaries.

Could you provide some details about your current role as Vice President, Information Security & Compliance at Hubilo & fielddrive?

As the Vice President of Information Security & Compliance I am responsible for implementing and maintaining the information security and privacy architecture, at Hubilo & fielddrive, I have been in this role since January 2023, and my arch focus is to ensure the security and compliance of the Hubilo group of companies’ systems and data. As a leader, I work to ensure that our security is based on utilising innovative applications to provide a customer experience that meets global standards. I work closely with internal and external stakeholders and business partners to effectively reduce risks, achieve regulatory compliance, and support the company’s strong vision of building greater human connections.

Can you provide some information about Hubilo and its mission?

Hubilo is a marketer’s event and webinar platform that focuses on creating highengagement experiences for users, helping them double their pipeline. Founded in 2015, Hubilo has become a leader in the industry, facilitating over 12,000 events and generating hundreds of millions of minutes of event experience consumption. The company’s powerful engagement features, dedicated client experience team, and custom branding tools contribute to its success in enabling events that convert. Headquartered in Bengaluru and San Francisco, Hubilo is committed to empowering B2B marketers by unlocking the value of events and webinars and driving real revenue.

What are some of your key skills and strengths in this field?

Due to my insatiable curiosity and desire to broaden my skill set, I possess a range of skills and strengths that have contributed to my success in information security and compliance. I am a certified professional in security and privacy standards, viz., ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and CSA STAR, and have expertise in varying levels of privacy and information security compliance, GDPR, CCPA, cybersecurity, SOC, and cloud security.
My professional and personal experiences in this field have resulted in cultivating my core strengths in exercising strategic responsibilities in the planning and implementation of robust security systems in data centric ecosystems, Budgeting, team management and motivation, clear communication and relationship building, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a detail-oriented attitude.

Before taking charge as Hubilo’s VP, what other positions have you held in the field of information security and compliance?

I served as the Director – Information Security & Compliance with Hubilo from September 2021 to January 2023. Before that, I held the position of Associate Director, Information Security, with Hubilo. Additionally, I have held leadership roles such as Head of IT Security & Operations at Wingify and VWO, and Manager of IT Security & Global Operations at RateGain.

What are your future goals and aspirations?

My future goals and aspirations revolve around continuous growth and innovation in the field of information security and compliance.
I aim to stay updated with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance security frameworks and mitigate risks effectively. Additionally, I strive to contribute to the development of best practises and novel standards in information security and compliance. I believe that with my professional experience in this increasingly important field, I will continue to make a meaningful contribution to both the organisation and wider discipline of information security, with an eye on the advancement of our understanding of nuanced and fair technology, its integration, regulation, and compliance.
