Golf Sixes: Inaugural Short Form Event is ‘Just What the Sport Needs’

Golf is the latest member of joining the “six-appeal” club and it has made a huge stride towards finding an attractive short type of the game. The European Tour’s Golf Sixes, arranged at the Centurion Club close to St Albans, became famous with players and fans and built itself up as the plan for the game’s rendition of cricket’s Twenty20 format. Presenting the utilization of a shot clock on one of the holes is a thought that could quickly be consolidated in existing long- form tournaments.

However, this opening event also appeared meaningful, as the golf matches can be played over as few as six holes. They can be finished and dusted in a time of an hour and a decent tournament can be completed in a weekend. This is something that golf has been needing for a while, as in common perception the game is too long to play and watch.
