SITA Lab Introduced Intelligent Checkin Kiosk
In the year 2016, SITA Lab, technology research arm of SITA presented a self-propelling baggage robot, Leo. It may someday welcome you at the airport curb, check in for the flight, provide the bag tags, and take the bags away for further processing.
Intelligent check-in kiosk
This year, SITA Lab once again introduced an intelligent check-in kiosk named KATE. It can move separately, in a group, too congested areas in the airport.
The robotics kiosk is designed to check an array of data sources such as flight & passenger flow information, identify when and where more kiosks are required, use geolocation and barrier avoidance technology, go through the airport without hitting into any person or a thing.
The check-in kiosk automatically returns to the docking situation when it has low power or requires the new supply of bag tags or boarding passes. KATE makes use of ultramodern technologies to offer operators enhanced flexibility and efficiency.
Movable kiosk assists airports and airlines to serve their passengers when re-booking is needed because of some reasons such as weather delays or flight cancellation. Robotics kiosk can be easily put on duty in the offsite areas such as convention halls, railway station, and cruise ports.
