Modius: A Wearable Wellness Headset that Claims to Help in Weight Loss
The US-based company, Modius Health at CES 2018 has developed a headset named Modius Headset A Weight Loss Headset, that aimed at helping weight loss by stimulating the part of the brain to controls fat storage and metabolism. The company set up by Dr. Jason McKeown, a neuroscientist wants people to believe a wearable device can help you in weight loss without extra effort.
The wearable technology, priced at $499 works by sending electrical signals to the user’s brain, making them want to eat less. The product Modius looks like a white plastic headset that has two bits to hang behind a user’s ears. Focusing on Care able technology, Modius has been shortlisted among the top 10 gadgets to be awarded at the tech world’s biggest event Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
At The Las Vegas conference, Modius Health said that the headset through stimulation of the vestibular nerve can boost metabolism and makes you less hungry. Also, you can attach the headset to the little electrode pads which fit behind the ears and use them to hook in the little bits. When you turn on the gadget, it starts sending electrical signals to the hypothalamus, a crucial part of the brain which controls metabolic rate, hormones, appetite, and fat storage. This stimulation in hypothalamus will lower the body’s set point and makes you feel less hungry and thus regulate the body fat.
Dr. McKeown, a 31-year old neuroscientist said that this technology will monitor user’s activities like how many steps they are walking or calories they are burning. And users are advised to wear it once a day for an hour so that neuroscience will help you in melting off the pounds. This wearable wellness device is designed to assist adults to become slender and achieves their fitness goals through Modius Headset A Weight Loss Headset.
