Due to large part to the expansion of the tech industry, affordable housing has become a crisis on the west coast. Recently, the tech giants who have helped to create the problem have pledged money and support to fixes in their communities, but there are numerous reasons behind this doubt. Liz Gonzalez, a contributor at Silicon Valley De-Bug, raised her voice against concerns about the expansion of Google into San Jose. She revealed that- we’re being ignored, displaced and folks who have no long term interest in this community get to decide what it looks like and who gets to live here. Google promised to pledge $ 1 billion to help to stop the housing crisis. For Bay’s future, facebook helped to create the partnership, which will gather $ 500 million for the cause. Apple is committing $ 2.5 billion. In the area of Seattle, Microsoft is cheating in $ 500 million, whereas its neighbor Amazon has opened a homeless shelter on its downtown campus. Amazon also committed, it contributed $ 38 billion to Seattle’s Economy since 2010.
