Lyft, a ridesharing co. based in San Francisco, is now introducing a car rental service. This allows customers to rent a vehicle without going to the counter. Hertz and Avis dropped on this news. In a blog post, Lyft said, we’re rendering flexibility to the riders by renting a car for business trips, weekend getaways or even to run errands. The service is initially available for the selected customers of Bay and Los Angeles. To enjoy the service, users tap into the key icon of the app. This rental service includes unlimited miles and it will handle refueling at the market price, Lyft said. The company also claims that customers will feel the vehicle as their own as it is equipped with Apple Carplay, Android Auto and phone charger. Moreover, customers can choose free add-ons like ski racks, tire chains, and car seats. And, the company is adding hybrid vehicles to the mix soon. Because of this, Hertz dropped almost 6% to $ 15.26 and Avis Fell 5% to $ 30.89.
