She is the founder and CEO of LimeRoad, a women-centric fashion e-commerce platform gaining popularity day by day. In this write-up, we will discuss Suchi Mukherjee success story and her journey to become one of India’s most successful businesswomen.

Education and family background

Born in a Haryana middle-class family in 1973, Suchi did her graduation in Economics from St. Stephens College, Delhi. After her graduation, she went to the UK to accomplish her master’s degree in Finance & Economics from the London School of Economics. Soon after finishing her studies, Suchi started her career at the age of 25 years and worked as an investment banker at Lehman Brothers for five years. Then she worked for Virgin Media and later joined eBay, the US e-commerce giant. The best part of Suchi Mukherjee success story is that she worked in leading co-operations in various positions and was not satisfied with these achievements and wanted to create something of her own. Therefore, she founded LimeRoad, an e-commerce company for women’s fashion needs to chase her dreams.

The idea of success

The idea to establish LimeRoad came to her mind when she was in London on her second maternity break. One day, when Shuchi was going through a magazine, she saw an excellent piece of jewellery featured in the magazine. She liked the jewellery but couldn’t get it instantly or reach out to the seller as the jewellery was sourced from a local artisan from Mumbai. It was the moment when she realised the need for a technology that can make it easy to discover and purchase such products. Suchi Mukherjee success story actually begins when she started creating a blueprint for a startup in India. Once she got clarity and conviction in her idea, she returned to India in 2011 with a dream to create a global brand based in India.

This journey was not that easy for her and her family as her son was around 1 year old. Suchi used to travel every month for 15 days with a one-year-old in tow, while her husband and daughter stayed in London. Apart from that, she encountered the complications with the Indian system including basic infrastructure, intricate bank processes, a complex company filing procedure, reliable internet connectivity and much more. However, she considered these complexities tiny obstacles and overcame them with immense courage.

Achievements

Suchi Mukherjee success story is incomplete without mentioning her achievements because her fame is not just limited to the founder and CEO of LimeRoad, she is now the e-commerce face of India. In 2018, she shared the stage with Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi at the “Start-up India-Stand up India” conference.
