He is the founder and chairman of a multinational company, Adani Group, in Ahmedabad. He owns Mudra Post, India’s biggest port located in Gujarat. Moreover, his company Adani Group deals with real-estate, infrastructure, electric power generation and transmission, and commodities with a net income of $ 13 billion. The Adani Group has anchored its name in Australian coal mining and runs the Abbot Point project, including Carmichael, the world’s largest coal mine. 

2- Mukesh Ambani – $ 87.4 Billion 

The Chairman and CEO of Reliance Industries Ltd, Mukesh Ambani, is in second place in the list of top 10 richest person in India with a net worth of $ 87.4 Billion. RIL operates the world’s largest oil refinery in Bombay High and deals with telecommunications, retail, petrochemicals, oil, and gas. Mr. Dhirubhai Ambani formed Reliance in 1966 as a textile company. After the death of Dhirubhai Ambani in 2002, the company’s fortune was forwarded to his son Mukesh Ambani and Anil Ambani. While Anil Ambani has failed to preserve his father’s legacy, Mukesh Ambani has taken it to another level. 

3- Shiv Nadar- $29.1 Billion

Starting his journey as an IT professional, Shiv Nadar is a leading Indian business tycoon now. He is the founder of HCL Technologies and Shiv Nadar Foundation and at third position in the list of the top 10 richest person in India. His company, HCL Technology, has spread its wings in 50 countries and includes more than 169000 employees worldwide. He is one of India’s leading philanthropists who donated $662 million for his Shiv Nadar Foundation to promote and expand education in India and abroad. After successfully leading HCL Technologies for many years, Mr. Nadar has passed the position to his daughter. Forbes’ real-time data shows he is the 55th richest man on the planet. 

4- Cyrus Poonawalla- $ 24.3 Billion

Chairman and MD of Cyrus Poonawalla Group, Cyrus Poonawalla. His organisation CPG includes the world’s biggest vaccine maker company, the Serum Institute of India. Mr. Poonawalla had established the foundation stone of Serum Institute of India in 1966, and currently the firm is producing around 1.5 billion vaccine doses per year. The SII has expanded its goals concerning covid outbreaks and has established new plants to accelerate the productivity to cover the boosted demand for covid vaccines. As per Forbes, with a net worth of $24.3 billion, Cyrus Poonawala is at the fourth position in the list of the top 10 richest person in India. 

5- Radhakishan S. Damani- $ 19.9 Billion 

Founder of DMart and owner of Avenue Supermarts, Radhakishan S. Damani is the world’s 86th wealthiest person. He has become India’s retail king by forming Avenue Supermarts, a Mumbai low-cost consumer product store chain. He started his journey with a single store in 2002 in Mumbai, and now his retail store chain DMart includes 221 outlets throughout the country. With a net worth of $19.9 Billion, Radhakishan S. Damani is in fifth place in the list of the top 10 richest person in India as per Forbes data. 

6- Lakshmi Mittal – $ 17.6 Billion

Lakshmi Niwas Mittal, the executive chairman of ArcelorMittal, a UK-based world’s largest steel-making company, is in sixth place in the list of top 10 richest person in India. Steelmaking was his family business; therefore, he was well-aware of this industry. He founded Mittal Steals and later merged with Arcelor, a french steel company. After a massive financial loss of $700 million, Mr. Lakshmi Mittal has passed his position to Aditya Mittal, his son. 

7- Savitri Jindal $ 17.6 Billion

According to Forbes, India’s richest woman and CEO of OP Jindal group, Savitri Jindal, is at seventh position in the list of top 10 richest person in India with a net worth of $17.6 Billion. She has taken her late husband’s place, Mr. Om Prakash Jindal. Apart from steelmaking, The O.P. Jindal Group is involved in power generation, mining, gases, and port services. After the death of the company’s founder Mr. O.P. Jindal, his four sons have taken charge of the business, but his wife, Savitri Jindal, is nominated as Company’s Supreme. 

8- Kunal Birla – $16.5 Billion

With a net worth of $16.5 Billion, Kunal Birla, the chairman of ABG, is the fourth generation of Aditya Birla Group. As per Forbes real-time billionaires data, he is in the eighth place in the list of top 10 richest person in India. Moreover, Kunal Birla is the chancellor of IIM Ahmedabad and Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences. Carrying forward his father’s legacy, Kunal leads the organisation that deals with financial services, communications, and cement.  

9 – Dilip Shanghvi – $15.5 Billion

Honoured with Padma Shri Award in 2016, Dilip Shanghvi is the founder of Sun Pharmaceuticals. The company is expanded to 150 countries with a headcount of more than 30, 000. According to Forbes’ data, Dilip Shanghvi is in the ninth position in the list of top 10 richest person in India with a net worth of $15.5 billion. Moreover, with his endeavours and vision, he has made Sun Pharmaceuticals India’s most valued listed pharmaceutical firm with average revenue of $4.5 billion per year. 

10- Pallonji Mistry $15.1 Billion 

Chairman of Shapoorji Pallonji Group, Pallonji Mistry is an Irish Indian billionaire and a tycoon of the construction industry. As per Forbes’ real-time billionaire’s data, he is the last inclusion in the list of the top 10 richest person in India. Pallonji is the largest shareholder in Tata Group, India’s biggest business amalgamation. Pallonji has dual citizenship. He is Irish and resides in Mumbai.  His younger son, Cyrus Mistry has replaced legendary Mr. Ratan Tata as the chairman of TATA Group in 2012.
