Gupta’s appointment came into existence when WazirX chief government officer Nischal Shetty and co-founder Siddharth Menon shifted to Dubai, UAE. Chunmun Gupta’s inclusion in WazirX happened at a time when the views on the crypto trade in India have turned bitter due to the rules for crypto property and better taxation on asset class, which was launched in the Union Budget for 2022.
