How did your time at IIT Kharagpur and IIM Ahmedabad influence your leadership in AI and data solutions?
My academic journey at both IIT Kharagpur and IIM Ahmedabad was transformative, shaping me into a leader ready to tackle the challenges of AI and data solutions. At IIT Kharagpur, teamwork was integral, fostering collaboration and synergy essential for professional success. Coursework delved into statistics and machine learning, equipping me with analytical skills crucial for decisionmaking. Inspired by perseverance in “The Shawshank Redemption,” I learned to overcome obstacles with determination. At IIM Ahmedabad, structured problem-solving and financial intricacies deepened my skills. Real-world scenarios honed my ability to navigate ambiguity with confidence. Witnessing humble leadership’s impact fueled my commitment to self-improvement. In essence, my educational journey has been a symphony of discovery and growth. With a multidimensional skill set and unwavering resolve, I am prepared to conquer tomorrow’s challenges with optimism.

At TELUS International AI Data Solutions, we drive innovation in computer vision by prioritising client collaboration and operational excellence. Our strategy revolves around a client-centric approach, where we delve deep into practical dataset applications through dynamic consultations, fostering mutual learning. Recently, our partnership with a sensor technology client enriched our expertise and unveiled novel solutions. Operational principles, such as continuous analytics integration and a human-in-the-loop approach, power productivity and maintain quality. With datasets as our foundation, we’re resolutely leading the charge in revolutionising computer vision, propelling the industry towards unparalleled progress and transformation.
What pivotal career moments from Credit Suisse, Alvarez and Marsal, and the World Bank influenced you?
My career across firms like Credit Suisse, Alvarez and Marsal, and the World Bank has been defined by pivotal moments that have shaped my professional trajectory. At Alvarez and Marsal, hands-on problem-solving honed my analytical skills, crucial in today’s AIdriven landscape. These experiences not only fortified my AI proficiency but also elevated my communication skills to industry standards. Engaging with teams globally, from Credit Suisse’s cross-continental collaborations to consulting for an Indonesian coffee chain at Alvarez and Marsal, broadened my horizons. Moreover, these firms instilled in me the value of perseverance, evident in their longstanding success. Interactions with industry luminaries further enriched my growth journey. With a commitment to excellence and a network of esteemed colleagues, I am primed to confront tomorrow’s challenges with confidence and resolve.
What did you learn from your healthcare analytics venture, and what's your view on AI's future in healthcare?
My entrepreneurial journey in healthcare analytics taught me invaluable lessons in perseverance and determination. Despite setbacks from a lack of focus, I’ve realised that successful AI implementation demands sustained dedication and cohesive teamwork. Looking forward, AI’s potential in healthcare is vast, spanning various areas ripe for innovation. However, I advocate for cautious growth, emphasising the importance of proper regulation and a thorough assessment of potential scenarios and impacts.
What are your future plans for AI and data solutions, professionally and personally?
My future plans encompass several key
areas to further impact the AI and data
solutions fields. I aim to engage in continuous
learning and skill development by staying
abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and
methodologies in AI and data science. This may
involve attending conferences, participating
in workshops, pursuing advanced degrees, or
obtaining relevant certifications.
I intend to actively participate in research
initiatives or lead innovation projects aimed
at advancing the state-of-the-art in AI
algorithms, machine learning techniques, data
analytics, and related fields. Collaboration
with academia, industry partners, and
research institutions will be crucial in
exploring new ideas and developing cuttingedge solutions. Sharing insights, expertise,
and thought leadership through publications,
speaking engagements, and participation in
industry forums will be a priority, aiming to
influence the direction of the field and inspire
others to drive positive change.
Additionally, serving as a mentor or educator
to nurture the next generation of AI and data
professionals, advocating for ethical principles
and responsible AI practices, fostering crossdisciplinary collaboration, and leveraging AI for
social impact initiatives will be key components
of my future plans. Through these avenues, I
aspire to continue making a meaningful and
lasting impact in the field, driving innovation,
advancing knowledge, and contributing to
positive societal change.
