Redefining Indian Electronics for the World Stage

Laxmi Remote (India) Private Limited
Divyu Sachdeva never assumed leadership was inherited. He treated it as something to be earned—line by line, process by process, conversation by conversation. When he joined LRIPL in 2014, the company was already an established electronics manufacturer. Rather than stepping into authority, Divyu chose immersion. With a background in business management and no formal engineering training, he committed himself to understanding electronics manufacturing from the inside out—components, tooling, moulding, assembly, testing, and the discipline that holds it all together.
Those early years were defined by proximity. Time on factory floors shaped his respect for process; long journeys across India, meeting distributors and dealers, sharpened his understanding of customer trust, brand perception, and the limits of a replacement-driven domestic market. Leadership, for Divyu, emerged not from direction but from listening.
By 2017, that learning began to translate into structural change. Divyu started steering LRIPL toward OEM partnerships, in-house design, and innovation-led manufacturing, building systems capable of meeting global expectations rather than short-term demand. As his role expanded internationally, he navigated cultural complexity, sourcing challenges, and global timelines with a focus on long-term capability creation.
Today, as Director of LRIPL, Divyu stands at the intersection of legacy and reinvention. Under his stewardship, LRIPL has grown into a fully integrated electronics manufacturing organisation employing over 1,500 professionals. In doing so, it mirrors a larger shift underway, where Indian electronics manufacturing is no longer defined by scale alone but by credibility, consistency, and execution excellence on the global stage. Divyu shares more about his journey with TradeFlock.
Tell us about your journey with LRIPL and the two key lessons you’ve carried from it.?
Post joining my family business, LRIPL, in 2014, I spent my initial years immersing myself in the technical and operational aspects of electronics manufacturing, despite coming from a business management background. I made a conscious effort to understand the business from the ground up, right from observing machinery and learning about components to grasping how products are built end to end.
Equally important were the years spent travelling across India, engaging closely with dealers and distributors to understand market realities, customer expectations, and brand perception. Two lessons have stayed with me throughout this journey: the importance of being a good listener and the value of patience—in learning, leadership, and long-term decision-making.
Which challenge required you to go above and beyond to find a solution?
One of my biggest challenges was starting as a non-technical leader and learning electronics manufacturing from scratch. Implementing ERP systems added another layer—training teams, aligning workflows, and managing change. Balancing these operational and human challenges taught me patience, discipline, and the importance of learning on the job.
Which achievement defines your journey, and what legacy do you aim to create?
I see my journey defined by impact, not legacy. I’m proud of LRIPL’s contribution to India—employing 1,500 people and mastering remote control manufacturing. Moments like the Google TV Summit in Bangkok, where global industry leaders recognised our capabilities, are particularly rewarding. They highlight not just personal achievement but also India’s rising credibility and strength in the global electronics manufacturing ecosystem, showing that dedication and expertise can place Indian companies on the world stage.
What drives you?
Curiosity and responsibility drive me. Curiosity keeps me exploring new technologies and markets, while responsibility ensures LRIPL creates meaningful impact, generates employment, and delivers products that make India proud globally.
How do you bridge Indian manufacturing strengths with the demands of global clients?
Bridging Indian manufacturing strengths with global client demands starts with listening and understanding. Different markets have distinct expectations—Japanese clients value face-to-face discussions, Koreans have a unique approach, Chinese emphasise precision, and US/European clients focus on results. At LRIPL, structured processes, dedicated sourcing, clear communication, and continuous innovation help align capabilities with global standards and compete effectively internationally.
What aspects of international sales do people often overlook or underestimate?
Global sales may seem glamorous, but it demands intensive negotiation, cultural sensitivity, and time zone management. Success relies on patience, understanding client perspectives, meticulous preparation, and consistent follow-ups. Sales is physically and mentally demanding, requiring energy, adaptability, and unwavering commitment to deliver results across international markets.
Which mentor inspires you, and how do you pass on those lessons?
My father has been my greatest professional influence, shaping my approach through his dedication, work ethic, and strategic thinking.
I mentor the next generation by emphasising consistency, practical knowledge, resilience, and a hands-on, never-give-up attitude
Any word of wisdom for aspiring leaders?
Consistency and patience are key. Listen more than you speak, learn from experience, embrace innovation, and adapt to changing markets. Focus on continuous learning and building strong teams; success will follow naturally.
