How do you measure HR initiatives' success and impact on business?

I use data and analytics to measure HR initiatives and their impact on business performance. My team tracks metrics like talent acquisition effectiveness, 90-day attrition rates, and time to productivity. These analytics influence key areas such as revenue, profitability, and market innovation, ensuring our HR strategies align with and drive overall business goals.

What personal routines help you stay productive and focused?

To stay productive and focused, I maintain a positive and energetic mindset. My daily routine includes waking up at 4:00 a.m. to meditate, which centres my thoughts and clears my mind. I also hit the gym to keep my body fit and my energy levels high. Meditation helps me stay balanced and strengthens my personal and professional relationships. I stay connected with my network for fresh insights and support, enhancing both my work and personal life.

How can leaders prepare future leaders?

Today’s leaders should empower, coach, and delegate to prepare future leaders. Hire individuals with diverse, even superior capabilities, and encourage risktaking and innovation. Be open to mistakes while aligning your team with goals. This approach fosters fresh perspectives, develops successors, and supports your vision with a motivated, empowered workforce.

How do you resolve team conflicts, and what’s a challenging example with key lessons?

I believe a good conversation can resolve most conflicts. Effective conflict resolution requires both talking and listening, with leaders fostering open discussions and ensuring alignment. My approach is to express opinions, agree to disagree if needed, and find a way forward. For instance, I resolve conflicts over coffee or team outings and use clear agendas for senior meetings. In one challenging situation, facilitating open discussions between two teams on a critical project led to a collaborative resolution and strengthened relationships.

What are HR's biggest opportunities in India, and how are you aligning with them?

The biggest opportunities for HR in India are AI and analytics. Embracing these technologies enhances business agility, automation, and data-driven decisionmaking. By leveraging AI and analytics, organisations can improve financial diligence and predictive capabilities. I align with this by integrating advanced analytics and AI into our HR strategies.

Can you share the story of a mentor who greatly influenced your career?

Mentors have been pivotal in my growth, shaping my leadership style. I’ve had the privilege of learning from many inspiring mentors. One taught me the power of assertiveness and intuition; another emphasised emotional intelligence and empathy in leadership; and a third highlighted the importance of stretching goals and team motivation. A fourth mentor showed me the significance of technology and analytics for HR’s future. Each has offered unique insights, reinforcing my belief that learning is a continuous journey for everyone we meet.

What are your hobbies, and how do you balance work and personal life?

Outside of work, I’m passionate about meditation and heartfulness, which help me manage stress and enhance focus. I also love travelling with family and friends, as it broadens my perspectives and provides fresh experiences. I have a long list of destinations I want to explore, which keeps me excited and energised for my next adventure.
