As a CEO, what was your most critical decision, and what did you learn from it?

As a CEO, the most critical decision I faced was navigating a severe economic downturn. I prioritised sustainability and employee wellbeing through tough choices like cost-cutting, restructuring, and focusing resources on core Best CEOs from Asia 2024 38 business areas. This experience taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of proactive leadership. By maintaining our commitment to clients and leveraging our core strengths, we built trust and strengthened our team. Strategic planning and maintaining a clear vision were crucial in guiding us through uncertainty and positioning us for growth when conditions improved, ultimately reinforcing the foundation of our organisation.

What traits should a CEO have to lead a consulting firm in this volatile market, and what strengths do you bring?

To effectively lead a management consulting firm in a volatile market, a CEO must embody resilience and adaptability to navigate uncertainties and leverage challenges as opportunities. Strategic vision is crucial for anticipating market shifts, setting long-term goals, and devising actionable plans. A clientcentric focus ensures trust, value delivery, and consistent client satisfaction. Strong financial acumen is essential for firm profitability through efficient resource management. My strengths include extensive experience and expertise, strong leadership skills, a clientfocused approach, strategic vision, adaptability, resilience, an innovative mindset, and financial prudence. These qualities collectively equip me to steer a management consulting firm successfully through dynamic market conditions, foster growth, and deliver sustainable results.

My vision for A&A Associate entails strategic initiatives aimed at expanding our presence, enhancing client relationships, and driving innovation to shape the global business landscape. We plan to extend our operations beyond Dubai into key markets across the Middle East, Asia, and globally, broadening our client base and seizing new business opportunities. By focusing on delivering highly personalised solutions tailored to meet individual client needs, we aim to foster stronger, long-term relationships and elevate overall client satisfaction. Additionally, integrating sustainable practices into our operations and advising clients on environmentally friendly strategies will establish us as leaders in promoting sustainable business practices. Envisioning A&A Associate as a thought leader, we will publish insightful research, host industry conferences, and forge strategic partnerships to influence industry standards and catalyse innovation. My Asian heritage profoundly shapes my leadership and business management styles. From an early age, I learned the importance of diligence, discipline, and perseverance, principles that guide my strong work ethic and commitment to overcoming challenges as a leader. Influenced by a holistic decision-making perspective inherent in Asian cultures, I emphasise considering diverse viewpoints and anticipating broader impacts when making strategic decisions. What are your hobbies and passions outside of work?

Outside of work, I find joy in travelling to explore new places and experience diverse cultures. This passion not only provides a refreshing break from routine but also inspires fresh perspectives that I bring back to my professional life. Additionally, I am an avid reader with a particular interest in business literature, biographies, and selfimprovement books.
