Reliance Defence Clinches Mega Deal with Rheinmetall

Anil Ambani’s Reliance Defence announced on Wednesday, 25th June 2025, that it has secured an export order valued at ₹600 crore from Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH, a leading German defence and ammunition manufacturer.

According to the company statement, this is one of the largest export orders in the high-tech ammunition sector to date.

The contract marks a significant milestone in Reliance Defence’s strategy to establish itself as a trusted partner within the global defence and ammunition supply chain, with a particular emphasis on the European market.

This collaboration reflects the shared commitment of both parties to long-term cooperation while supporting the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Make in India’ initiatives by bolstering India’s indigenous defence manufacturing capabilities.

Reliance Defence has expressed its ambition to rank among the top three defence exporters in India.

Commenting on the partnership, Anil Ambani, Founder and Chairman of Reliance Group, said the deal brings cutting-edge technology to India and represents a defining milestone for the country’s private defence manufacturing sector.

As part of the agreement, Reliance Defence will set up an integrated facility for the production of explosives, ammunition, and small arms under its flagship Dhirubhai Ambani Defence City (DADC) initiative.
