Turning Data Noise into Insight

Anil Singh

Co-Founder & CTO

Lifesight Global Pte. Ltd.

Hours-old data. Billions at stake. Early in his career at Morgan Stanley, Anil Singh confronted a high-stakes reality: critical portfolio decisions were being made on outdated information, processed through a sprawling legacy system running over 10,000 cron jobs. It wasn’t just a technical bottleneck— it was a persistent institutional risk. For Anil, this challenge crystallised a mission that would define his career: transforming data from a liability into a real-time strategic asset. Today, as co-founder and CTO of Lifesight Global Pte. Ltd., Anil channels that mission into platforms that make complex data actionable for businesses. His early experiences at IBM and Goldman Sachs, combined with the rigour of financial services, shaped a leadership philosophy rooted in precision, accountability, and strategic foresight. Technology alone is insufficient—it must deliver measurable business outcomes and scale seamlessly. Anil’s leadership rests on three pillars: precision under pressure, ensuring data integrity in demanding environments; business-first engineering, aligning innovation with strategic goals; and scalability as a prerequisite, building systems and teams that can adapt and grow. For him, leadership is about de-risking the future, turning “data noise” into insight, and enabling organisations to operate with clarity and confidence. Speaking with TradeFlock, Anil revisits his journey, strategy and work.

What past experiences shaped your leadership, and what lessons came from failure?

My leadership spans both large-scale corporate transformations and high-growth startups, shaping how I approach complex problems and teams. At Morgan Stanley, as VP of Technology, I led the migration of a multi-billion-dollar, batchbased margin platform to a modern, event-driven microservices architecture, mastering the art of de-risking complexity, aligning global teams, navigating institutional inertia, and executing transformative projects with precision. At Amadeus, leading the cloud transformation of the Instant Search platform taught me agile leadership: empowering teams to make microdecisions while keeping a shared strategic vision. At Lifesight, as VP of Engineering and now CTO, I scaled a data intelligence platform to process over 200 billion events daily and achieve ~$7 million ARR, linking engineering choices directly to commercial outcomes. A technically successful cloud migration early on caused team burnout, teaching me that true leadership is about bringing people along. This inspired our “Technology Leadership Programme”, embedding mentorship and sustainable growth into Lifesight’s culture.

What tech trends inspire you, and how are you preparing for them?

Marketing today is full of guesswork. Traditional analytics can tell a CMO what happened, but not why, leading to wasted budgets and missed opportunities. The convergence of Causal AI, Agentic AI Systems, and Privacy-First Data Infrastructure promises to change that. Over the next 5–10 years, Causal AI will allow marketers to simulate campaigns, forecast outcomes, and identify investments that generate true incremental impact, making strategy evidencedriven rather than speculative. Next-generation Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM) will become always-on and AI-powered, delivering real-time insights across marketing, pricing, and competitive factors. Combined with autonomous AI agents, CMOs could set high-level goals, like increasing market share, and the system would independently plan, execute, and optimise campaigns while reporting verifiable results. At Lifesight, we are building this future today. Our privacy-first, ML Ops-ready platform leverages causal inference, DoubleML, and Bayesian modelling. With a dedicated marketing science and AI/ML team, and my MSc in statistics & data science, we are aligning platform, people, and expertise to define the next era of evidence-based marketing.

Describe a moment when fast leadership resolved a crisis and its lesson.

At Lifesight, a subtle bug in a routine update began corrupting critical geolocation data, coinciding with a sudden surge of over a billion daily records. The first alert came from a client noticing erratic patterns, our core data integrity was at risk. I immediately assembled a “war room” with leads from engineering, product, and SREs. The first step was containment: halting downstream processing to prevent further damage, even at the cost of temporary realtime degradation. Next, I personally informed clients, ensuring transparency and trust. Over the following 48 hours, we traced, fixed, and reconciled the corrupted data, while accelerating an architectural shift to a modular, streaming-first pipeline. This crisis reinforced a core leadership lesson: in high-pressure moments, clarity, trust, and enabling experts matter more than control. It strengthened my focus on decentralised decision-making, now a cornerstone of Lifesight’s engineering culture.

Outside work, what inspires you, and what legacy do you hope to leave as a leader?

Curiosity has always been my compass, whether exploring new technologies or mentoring young technologists, I am energised by untangling complexity to find elegant, effective solutions. This drive fuels my professional mission: democratising AI-driven marketing analytics to turn ambiguity into clarity for CMOs and growth teams. At Lifesight, I hope to be remembered not just for building scientifically rigorous platforms but for fostering a culture of experimentation, empowerment, and continuous learning, exemplified by our “Technology Leadership Programme”. In the broader tech ecosystem, I aim to advance the shift from correlation to causation in AI, enabling marketing strategies grounded in verifiable business impact. My legacy, ultimately, is self-sustaining engines of excellence—teams and technology that deliver clarity, value, and measurable results, shaping the next era of AI-driven marketing intelligence from India to the world.
