Dexian India

When the world came to a standstill during the COVID-19 crisis, Vishal Chaudhary was just getting started. With no clients, no team, and nothing but conviction, he took a bold leap and founded what would go on to become Dexian India Systems LLC (DISYS). It wasn’t an easy beginning. Every decision carried weight, and every step demanded courage. One defining moment came when a potential client approached him with an opportunity that could have been his company’s first big break. But deep down, Vishal knew they weren’t ready to deliver. Saying no at that point, when everything in him wanted to say yes, was one of the hardest choices he ever made. Yet that moment of restraint became a turning point. It taught him a powerful truth: credibility is built not by chasing every opportunity, but by standing firm on what you can truly deliver. Soon after, his integrity paid off. Dexian secured its first major engagement with a new client, staffing 28 projects within just three months and rising to become their top-performing partner. For Vishal, it wasn’t just a business win. It was proof that doing the right thing, even when it’s the hardest thing, always leads to lasting success. Today, as Executive Director of Dexian India, and with over 18 years of experience in strategic planning, operations, and people leadership, Vishal continues to lead with that same belief—that great leadership is rooted in conviction, consistency, and an unwavering commitment to one’s word. Vishal discusses more about work and philosophy in this exclusive interview with TradeFlock.

What key lessons from your past experiences have shaped your leadership today?

When I decided to move on from my first organisation, I assumed my track record and achievements would speak for themselves. I applied to 10, 15, even 20 companies, only to face repeated rejection. Initially, I believed my skills were enough, but the experience taught me a humbling truth: there is always more to learn, new perspectives to gain, and habits to develop. When I finally secured a new role, I thought performing well would define my leadership. I quickly realised leadership goes beyond performance—it requires stepping out of your comfort zone, learning from failures, and constantly reimagining yourself. This shift transformed me. I moved from projecting certainty to embracing humility, curiosity, and continuous growth. Today, I lead by acknowledging gaps, seeking knowledge, and inspiring my teams to do the same. Accepting imperfection has become central to my leadership, shaping how I grow, guide, and make an impact.

What recent initiative excites you and meets client needs in the Middle East and India?

One initiative that excites me is our automated approach to employee relations and engagement. By capturing comprehensive data for each consultant, we gain insights from both employee and business perspectives. Feedback is shared with clients to enhance satisfaction, while trends are analysed to plan deliverables and reduce attrition. This meets growing client demand in the Middle East and India for data-driven, balanced workforce management.

What do you see as the key factors for achieving sustainable growth in IT services and consulting?

I believe sustainable growth in IT services and consulting begins with truly understanding people—both employees and clients. Growth cannot happen by treating employees as interchangeable resources. Assigning tasks without considering someone’s strengths, weaknesses, or ambitions risks placing them in roles where they cannot thrive. When we take the time to understand what energises them, where they struggle, and what they aspire to, we can align work to their strengths and ignite their passion. That’s when they show up fully and deliver their best. I also believe growth requires shifting from selling products to solving real problems. Every client request has a story behind it. By listening carefully, identifying root causes, and co-creating solutions that matter, we deliver outcomes that create genuine impact. Agility and continuous learning are equally critical. Learning must be embedded in every project, success, and failure. Processes should provide consistency while encouraging curiosity, experimentation, and the courage to pivot when needed. Finally, trust is the quiet engine of growth. When clients see us as invested partners and employees feel genuinely valued, loyalty follows naturally. Understanding people, solving meaningful problems, and building trust are what make growth sustainable.

What key trends will shape IT consulting in the next 5–10 years, and how are you preparing?

The future of IT consulting is defined by clients who expect more than expertise—they seek agility, reliability, and true partnership. At Dexian, we’ve transformed the traditional bench into a virtual bench, continuously training and redeploying talent to align with client needs, ensuring both employee growth and consistent client support. We invest in people through workshops, peer learning, and digital platforms like Coursera, while experienced professionals mentor others to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing. Beyond technical skills, we nurture curiosity and connection through networking sessions, TEDx-style talks, podcasts, and sports initiatives. Inclusion is a core focus. We create meaningful opportunities for people with disabilities, ensuring access to learning and leadership pathways. Looking ahead, sustainable success in IT consulting will come from combining skill development, human understanding, and inclusion. Dexian is actively preparing for this future, building people, processes, and culture that deliver lasting impact.
