RBI Approved Appointment Of Pralay Mondal As CEO Of CSB

CSB Bank Limited received the approval for the appointment of Pralay Mondal as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer from the Reserve Bank Of India (RBI) on September 15, 2022. The appointment was announced in the meeting held on the same day with the Boards of Directors. 

Pralay Mondal’s appointment as MD and CEO is for three years, from September 15, 2022, up to September 14, 2025. He joined the CSB Bank as President (Retail, SME, Operations, and IT) two years ago, on September 23, 2020. On February 17, 2022, he was appointed as the Deputy Managing Director of the Bank. Later, he held the position of the interim Managing Director & CEO of the Bank with effect from April 1, 2022, till date, in the absence of a regular Managing Director & CEO in the Bank. 

Pralay Mondal has 30 years of banking experience across multiple businesses and functions, including retail assets, liabilities, business banking, products, and technology. Before joining CSB Bank, he was Executive Director & Head of Retail Banking at Axis Bank. 

Before this, he was the Senior Group President and Head of Retail and Business Banking at Yes Bank. He also worked at HDFC Bank for 12 years and was associated with Standard Chartered Bank, Wipro InfoTech, and Colgate Palmolive. 

CSB Bank is one of the oldest private sector banks in India, with hundreds of years of existence. Based in Kerala, the Bank also has a presence in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh.
