Will China Impose More Sanctions On Taiwan?
The government of the Republic of China, citing the proposed elections on 13 Jan 2024, has threatened Taiwan to impose more sanctions if Taiwan is to continue with the election plans. China claims Taiwan as their land and historically sought Taiwan to forcefully accept the Chinese sovereignty claims. This is very bad news for Taiwan as the US is already looking to take over the chip market, and if China puts sanctions on Taiwan, the country can run out of business.
After this, Taiwan has accused the Chinese government of economic coercion and interference in their elections. Taiwan has also accused China of breaking a trade deal that was signed by the 2 nations in 2010. The thing that is yet to be seen is, China imposing these back-shattering sanctions on Taiwan.
