Unilever CHRO Leena Nair Decides to Quit After 30 Years

According to the reports, Leena Nair, CHRO at Unilever, joins in her new position with French-based company CHANEL. 

Leena Nair, who has been working with British consumer goods company Unilever for 30 years, most recently as Chief Human Resource Officer and member of Unilever leadership executive, now decides to quit and joins French Luxury group CHANEL as Global CEO. 

As a member of Unilever Leadership Executive (ULE), she was responsible for the financial performance of the organization which operates from multiple regulatory and labor environments. The company has over 160,000 employees in more than 100 countries. 

Leena Nair expressed her gestures in a LinkedIn post on Tuesday, “I am humbled and honored to be appointed the Global Chief Executive Officer of CHANEL, an iconic and admired company. I am so inspired by what CHANEL stands for. It is a company that believes in freedom of creation, cultivating human potential and in acting to have a positive impact in the world”.

Leena Nair has been working with Unilever for 30 years and will serve the company till January 2022, Unilever said in the statement while announcing changes to its leadership executives. 

“I would like to Thank Leena for her outstanding contribution over the last three decades. Leena has been a pioneer throughout her career at Unilever, but no more so than in her role as CHRO where she has been a driving force on equity, diversity, and inclusion agenda, on the transformation of our leadership development, and our preparedness for the future of work”, Unilever CEO Alan Jope stated. 

She has played a crucial role in building our purpose-led, future-fit organization, which is now the employer of choice in over 50 countries globally, he added. 

Leena Nair, holds an MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur and a Bachelor’s from Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli, has joined Unilever in 1992 and served for 30 years. 

“I am grateful for my long career at Unilever, a place that has been my home for 30 years. It has given me so many opportunities to learn, grow and contribute to a truly purpose-driven organization. I will always be a proud advocate of Unilever and its ambition to make sustainable living commonplace,” Nair said. 

At the same time, Unilever also congratulates Leena to pursue her new career with the French Luxury group CHANEL.
