The fiscal year 2021-2022 has showcased nearly 26 per cent growth in the combined income of India’s multibillionaires, which adds up to 750 billion dollars.
Toping up the list, there is reliance industries chairman, Mr Mukesh Ambani. His net worth is around $99.6 billion. However, speculations are that the launch of TATA Neu on April 7, 2022, could affect the business of the Reliance Group. TATA Neu is a full package of services by Amazon, Google, Swiggy and Jio. This could affect the net worth of Mr Ambani in the coming fiscal year 2022-23, as the super app has the potential to emphasize direct competition.
Other Indian billionaires with increased net worth for this FY22 are, Gautam Adani, founder and director of Adani Group. Along with Ambani, he holds the place of the richest man in Aisa. Shiv Nadar, chairman of HCL Technologies also received a 22% hike in his net worth and retained the place of 3rd richest Indian person.
The report further adds, Serum Institutes, Adar Poonawalla. His wealth has doubled in the past year, placing him in the 4th position of Indian richest man. Chairperson of O P Jundal Group, Mrs Savitri Jindal has had a fortunate year in terms of increased wealth. Her company is a leading name in the steel and power industry. She stands in the place of the 7th richest person in India.
Along with well settled and well-known billionaires, new self-made startups are also making their place at the top. Nykaa’s CEO Falguni Nayar is counted among the richest Indian billionaires. Recently her company was listed as the topmost growing company in India.
Besides these well-known names, other companies also raised around 15.6 billion dollars in the financial year 2022.
