JSPL Appoints Sudhanshu Saraf As CEO Of Steel Business

Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) announced the appointment of Sudhanshu Saraf As Chief Executive Officer of its steel business with immediate effect. The appointment of Saraf comes a day after the company announced the promotion of Naushad Akhtar Ansari as Joint Managing Director of JSPL. 

In his new role, Sudhanshu will oversee the company’s domestic and international steel operations. He will be responsible for the mining business of the company spread across Tensa (Odisha) and international coal mining operations in Australia, Mozambique, and South Africa. 

Sudhanshu has been a consultant with Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. for three years. Before this, he worked as a management consultant with Godrej Properties, Crompton Greaves, Punj Llyod, American Express, Vodafone, General Motors, Eveready, Premas Biotech, and Sona Okegaewa.  

He is an alumnus of the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (IT-BHU), and he completed his metallurgical engineering in 1987. 

In respect of his appointment, N.A. Ansari, Joint Managing Director of JSPL, said ━ “We welcome Mr Sudhanshu Saraf in his role as Chief Executive Officer of JSPL’s Steel Business. Mr Saraf’s deep understanding in identifying and deploying actions on System Constraints for maximizing the benefit of existing systems will go a long way in realizing the continuous efficiency enhancement and operational excellence roadmap at JSPL.”

“I see a strong JSPL position on many counts. I am excited about this opportunity to leverage these strengths to take JSPL to unprecedented heights,” Saraf said in his new role.
Jindal Steel & Power has a value of almost $18 billion in OP Jindal Group and is present in the steel, power, mining, and infrastructure sectors. It has a strong presence in the steel industry and has recently ranked as the world’s second-largest steel producer.
