The American multinational e-commerce giant Amazon is planning something that will trouble Blinkit, Zepto, and other quick commerce players. According to reports, the company is preparing to launch a quick commerce service, code-named Tez. Amazon is already working on this venture and might launch it in early 2025, Reuters reported.
Blinkit, Zepto, and Swiggy Instamart are the leading players in the Indian quick commerce market, with gross sales of $5.5 to $6 billion this month alone.
Tez will underscore Amazon India’s first quick commerce venture, which will be reviewed in the next monthly review during the first week of December. Amazon is hiring for this project but also has a core team for it.
Amazon’s move came after its e-commerce competitor Flipkart entered the quick commerce industry. Flipkart launched its ‘Minutes’ service earlier this year.
As per a Morgan Stanley report, the Indian quick commerce market will reach $25 to $55 billion by 2030. The report highlights the number of houses using delivery services, and the frequency of orders will grow significantly. High-frequency users comprise about ⅓ of the current market value and will account for 75-80% of the total market value by 2030.
So, the quick commerce sector will attract every e-commerce player in the future.
