In October 2022, Elon Musk acquired Twitter for $ 44 billion, and things have frequently been changing since then.
Elon Musk has been obsessed with Twitter, and in recent times, he forced the employees to work overnight and build a special system that will highlight Musk’s tweets more than ever.
Lately, Elon Musk and Joe Biden tweeted about the Super Bowl, but the Twitter CEO received fewer reactions in comparison to the US President. Musk did not like this and asked all the Twitter engineers to clarify why his tweet did not get huge impressions.
Biden received nearly 29 million impressions, while Musk got little over 9.1 million impressions. Seeing fewer impressions, Musk deleted the tweet and threatened to fire all remaining 80 engineers if his tweet did not get the most views next time.
Regarding this, Musk’s cousin James Musk sent an urgent message to Twitter engineers to call one who knows how to write software and show Elon Musk’s tweets all over Twitter, which, in turn, will get more impressions and views.
“We are debugging an issue with engagement across the platform. Any people who can make dashboards and write software, please can you help solve this problem? This is high urgency. If you are willing to help, please thumbs up this post,” the Twitter CEO’s cousin further wrote in the Slack group,” James Musk Write.
All the engineers worked overnight, and the system’s changes showcased Musk’s tweet on everyone’s timeline. The engineers also reported that Musk threatened to fire them if they didn’t fix the bug and get a maximum impression. Last week, Musk fired two significant engineers after being told that views on his tweets are declining because people are losing interest in him.

Elon Musk also announced to step down as the CEO of Twitter by the end of 2023. He has been hunting for the perfect CEO who can run the company. Musk confirmed the same at the World Government Summit in Dubai. “I need to stabilize the organization and ensure it’s financially healthy and the product roadmap is clearly laid out,” said Musk. “I don’t know, (but) I’m guessing probably towards the end of this year (for the new CEO).”
Musk fired the top management team as soon as he took over the company. Along with CEO Parag Agarwal, CFO Nel Segal, and Policy Chief Vijaya Gadde, Musk wiped off almost 75% of his workforce.
By the end of 2023, until the new CEO of Twitter is appointed, there are more chances that Musk may fire more employees.
