Lenskart’s World’s Largest Eyewear Factory In Telangana

The Indian multinational eyewear company Lenskart is expected to set up the world’s largest eyewear manufacturing factory in Telangana. According to sources, Amith Chaudhary and Piyush Bansal founded company Lenskart is investing Rs 1500 crore in this ambitious project, which will produce eyewear, lenses, sunglasses, etc., for India, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. Amit Chaudhary, the Lenskart co-founder, confirmed this news on Sunday. 

This Sunday, an event was organised to celebrate the first year of Revanth Reddy-led government in Telangana. During this event, Amit Chaudhary signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the Telangana government. After signing, he said Lenskart explored several states before setting sights on Telangana, and it’s just because of the state’s speed and ease of business. IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu was also present when Amit Chaudhary signed the MoU. 

This factory will be established in Fab City, located in the Rangareddy district. This plant is anticipated to produce 2,100 new job opportunities. The land for this plant has been identified and will be handed over to Lenskart this week, TGIIC (Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation) VC (Venture Capitalist) and MD (Managing Director) Vishnu Vardhan Reddy said. 

According to reports, this plant is a part of four MoUs worth around Rs 7,600 crore. It has the potential to generate 5,200 new jobs in the state. Lenskart is also expected to set up an R&D (Research and Development) facility in the state later.
