With decades of experience, what drives you to keep pushing the boundaries of Precision Metals?
At this stage of my career, what drives me is embedding excellence into every layer of operations. At Venus Wire Industries, where we manufacture stainless steel bright bars and profiles in over 25 grades, my focus is on transforming complexity into precision and ambition into sustainable outcomes. A core priority is strategic raw material and supply chain planning. We build technically aligned supplier partnerships to ensure dependable sourcing— critical for our high-precision manufacturing. I align operational excellence with corporate strategy, influencing decisions on product mix, technology upgrades, and market priorities to support our growth roadmap. A streamlined order management cycle enables smooth supply chain flow. We embrace lean manufacturing, automation, timemotion studies, and stringent quality systems to drive efficiency. Innovation fuels us—through R&D, surface engineering, and custom solutions for sectors like automotive, oil & gas, aerospace, and medical. Globally, we’re aligning with certifications like NADCAP (in progress), NORSOK, and AS9100, underscoring our commitment to international standards. Robust cost control, inventory planning, and clear KPIs sustain operational discipline. Equally vital is fostering a people-first culture through training, safety, and ownership. Our mission is clear: scale innovation, lead with cost efficiency, deliver precision, and position Precision Metals as a trusted global leader.
What lessons from Aamor Inox and Orient Abrasives guide you at Venus Wires?
My experiences taught me the value of aligning the right talent to the right role at the right time—a principle I apply daily at Venus Wires to drive results. I carry forward a culture of mutual trust & respect, collaboration, and team ownership. Technically, my understanding of stainless steel, abrasives & refractory processing enhanced my knowledge & experience in the wider spectrum. With a strong focus on business acumen, cost structure and P&L ownership, I ensure every move balances quality with long-term profitability.
What key operational challenges do you face in Bright Bars manufacturing, and how do you address them?
Raw material availability is a key challenge, affecting delivery timelines. We’ve built a multi-vendor ecosystem, assessing capabilities and fostering their development. I address infrastructure gaps, such as underperforming machinery, through time-motion studies and strategic upgrades. Technically demanding orders require persistence—multiple trials have brought success. We’ve enhanced cost efficiency by training process heads and refining pricing strategies. To build ownership, I lead by example, encourage initiative, and foster a culture of confidence through continuous training and a collaborative, proactive work environment.
How do you ensure efficiency while maintaining precision and consistency?
We build a strong foundation through strategic vendor selection, choosing suppliers based on proven strengths in specific grades & sizes. Sharing Technical Delivery Conditions (TDCs) upfront ensures material quality aligns with standards. Supplier quality systems at our plant reinforce consistency. High-precision automation minimises manual intervention, enhancing accuracy and productivity. Internally, robust in-process control and strong customer– supplier alignment within teams enable quick adaptation while maintaining our commitment to quality, efficiency, and timely delivery.
What quality standards do you follow to uphold Precision Metals’ reputation for excellence?
Quality is ingrained in every layer of our operations. We rigorously follow ISO 9001:2015 and are aligning with IATF 16949, AS9100, and NADCAP (Pursuing) standards across the value chain. Datadriven methods—like statistical process control and system-based routing—ensure alignment with customer specifications. Targeted training fosters team accountability and continuous improvement. Proactive corrective actions, supported by root cause analysis and risk assessments, help eliminate issues at the source—ensuring consistent, world-class quality across every batch.
What keeps you grounded and energised beyond your work at Precision Metals?
A blend of curiosity and balance. Mornings start with walks, while cricket, music, and comedy shows help me switch off. I love diving into business cases and tech reads to stay sharp. Weekend movie nights with family are my ultimate recharge ritual.
