In the recent turn of events, Siemens executive, Agustin Escobar his wife Merce Camprubi Montal, children aged 4, 5 and 11 years old died in a helicopter crash, while visiting New York from Barcelona, Spain.
In a 2022 press release from the technology conglomerate, Escobar was announced as an executive for Siemens‘ division in Spain and Southwest Europe. Miguel Ángel López, the former head of Siemens Spain, praised Escobar’s contributions, calling his work “key” to the company’s success.
López stated, “With Agustín Escobar We have the best possible successor to lead, from now on, the company in Spain. In recent years his work has been key to Siemens’ success in the field of mobility and transport.”

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez claimed the incident to be “devastating” he further mentioned, “Five Spaniards from the same family, three of them children, and the pilot have lost their lives. An unimaginable tragedy. I sympathize with the victims’ loved ones at this heartbreaking time.”
