An Artist Crafting Opportunity from Uncertainty

Amit Srivastava

Founder,

Neysaa Creatives

When people grow weary of their 9-to-5 corporate routines, entrepreneurship often seems like an appealing escape. But as enticing as it may appear, stepping into the world of entrepreneurship is far from easy. It comes with challenges—no fixed working hours, no guaranteed salary, and an ever-present risk of failure. Despite this, 11% of India’s adult population engages in “early-stage entrepreneurial activities,” while only 5% succeed in building a sustainable business. The road is tough, but for those who master the art of embracing these risks, the rewards can be extraordinary. Amit Srivastava, Founder of Neysaa Creatives, is a perfect example of someone who has mastered this art. With over 20 years of corporate leadership experience at Godrej Interio and 3M India Ltd., Amit ventured into the entrepreneurial world with Neysaa Creatives, a startup that redefines interior spaces. Focused on delivering bespoke designs for both businesses and homeowners, Neysaa Creatives offers a fresh perspective on how interiors can inspire and rejuvenate. TradeFlock interviewed Amit to discuss his entrepreneurial journey and his vision for Neysaa Creatives.

What inspired you to leave corporate roles at 3M India and Godrej Interio to start Neysaa Creatives?

It wasn’t just one moment but a series of realisations that brought me to this path. The corporate world gave me so much—working with giants like 3M India and Godrej Interio honed my leadership skills and taught me how large-scale businesses operate. But over time, I began to crave something more. I realised that while the corporate world is driven by processes, I am driven by creativity. I remember working on projects and thinking, “This could be done so much better with a personal touch, more innovation, and less red tape.” That urge to tailor solutions and offer something more dynamic became too strong to ignore. I wanted the freedom to create without limits and to offer businesses something unique. That’s when the idea of Neysaa Creatives started to take shape in my mind. I knew I could merge my industry experience with my entrepreneurial spirit to build something that truly fills the gap I saw. At some point, it wasn’t just about starting a business, it was about realising that I could create a brand that resonates with businesses on a more personal level, delivering customised, transformative solutions for their spaces

How do you handle setbacks or failures? Can you share a challenge you overcame?

Setbacks are inevitable in entrepreneurship, but what matters is how you respond. One such instance with Neysaa Creatives was—securing a big client for a bulk project, only for the deal to fall through at the last moment. It was disheartening after all the time and energy invested, but instead of dwelling on the loss, I quickly came over. We revisited our proposal, engaged the client for feedback, and refined our offering. Simultaneously, we shifted focus to other opportunities that had been on the back burner. This proactive approach allowed us to keep momentum and stay solution-focused, ultimately turning the adversity into an opportunity for growth.

What has surprised you the most since founding Neysaa Creatives?

The most surprising part of my journey with Neysaa Creatives was how quickly relationships became the cornerstone of the business. I expected challenges in product development and operations, but I didn’t foresee how vital my network—both new and old— would be in shaping the company’s growth. It was amazing how word-ofmouth referrals or support from my corporate connections helped land large-scale orders early on, building a strong financial foundation. Another unexpected aspect was the sheer number of hats I had to wear—operations, finance, and creative direction—all at once. Even after years of corporate experience, the handson involvement was a surprise, but also incredibly rewarding. The growth it’s spurred, both personally and professionally, is something I never anticipated.

What’s your vision for India’s creative startup ecosystem? Where are the biggest growth opportunities?

It feels like we’re on the verge of a design revolution here in India! The startup ecosystem in India’s creative space is bursting with potential. I envision fusing traditional craftsmanship seamlessly with modern technology to create something unique. With more consumers becoming designconscious, especially driven by the boom in e-commerce, the opportunities are vast. I see huge potential in branding, smart space management, and sustainable design solutions catering to a rapidly urbanising population. The biggest opportunity? Helping businesses and individuals alike create functional, beautiful spaces that tell a story— one that’s deeply rooted in India’s rich culture but forward-thinking in execution.
