Maruti Suzuki has replaced Kenichi Ayukawa, MD, since 2013, with Hisashi Takeuchi. He will be the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company for the next three years. The period of his service will start from April 1, 2022, and end on March 31, 2025.
The former MD ━ Kenichi Ayukawa ━ will be the whole-time director designated as Executive Vice Chairman of Maruti Suzuki for the next six months to help in the transition, with effect from April 1, 2022.
New MD and CEO, Hisashi Takeuchi, is graduated from the Faculty of Economics, Yokohama National University of Japan.
He is an old employee of Maruti Suzuki. He joined the company, Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC), in 1986 and started his career with Overseas Marketing Department, Europe Group of SMC. Later, in 1996, he joined OMD, Oceania Group of SMC and was promoted to Director (Marketing and Sales) of Suzuki Australia PTY in 1997.
Overall, he has had a great professional journey as he has worked at various levels, including Deputy Managing Director/Managing Director, Magyar Suzuki Corporation; Department General Manager- Global Automobile Planning Department and India Automobile Department, etc.
The former MD and new Executive Vice Officer is a Law graduate from Osaka University, Japan. He joined the Human Resource Division of SMC in 1980 and has worked at several key positions in SMC. Additionally, he has also played the role of General Manager in overseas operations and other significant roles in Overseas Marketing, Administration Department and Managing Director of Pak Suzuki Motor.
