"At the end of the day, it’s all about scaling without losing what makes your team and culture unique."
Can you share the toughest HR hurdles you faced while growing teams rapidly and your approach to overcoming them?
Scaling HR in a fast-growing environment often feels like building the plane while flying it. One of the toughest challenges I faced was keeping the company culture intact while hiring aggressively. When you’re expanding quickly, it’s easy to lose the very essence that makes your team special. To tackle this, we put structured hiring practices in place—clear interview frameworks, scorecards, and a smooth onboarding process—so we weren’t just hiring fast, but hiring the right people who fit our culture. Another big challenge came during leadership transitions. What worked well was keeping communication open and involving key team members early. Making them part of the process, rather than leaving them on the sidelines, built trust and helped everyone adapt more smoothly. At the end of the day, it’s all about scaling without losing what makes your team and culture unique.
What’s the initiative at Cerebrent Group that energises you most currently?
Right now, I’m most excited about rolling out our own HRMS suite, Circles, across all Cerebrent Group companies. Unlike traditional platforms, Circles integrates AI across every module— covering recruitment planning, onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, wellness, and more. It’s designed to streamline HR processes while helping teams make smarter, people-first decisions. What excites me most is how it blends technology with empathy, enabling HR to be both efficient and human-centric. Circles is transforming how we connect, engage, and support our employees, making HR a true driver of organisational growth and employee experience across the group.

One initiative I’m especially proud of is the FlexCampus Model we introduced at Millipixels back in 2017—well before flexible working became the norm. FlexCampus wasn’t just about remote work; it gave people the freedom to choose how and where they worked best, putting trust and autonomy at the heart of the model. The results were remarkable. Productivity and work-life balance improved, and we were able to tap into talent beyond our usual locations, expanding the organisation’s reach. To keep everyone connected, we introduced a “Town Hall” format—an informal, open space for team updates and feedback. It quickly became a place where employees felt heard, informed, and engaged. The success of FlexCampus didn’t just stay within Millipixels; it was later adopted across other group companies, including Clarient Systems and Evantiv Labs. It’s a reminder that innovative HR strategies, when rooted in trust and inclusivity, can have a lasting impact on engagement, retention, and organisational culture.
Which core value guides your HR and leadership decisions?
For me, one principle consistently guides every decision I make in HR and leadership: People First. Always. In high-growth environments, there’s immense pressure to implement structured processes, but if those processes aren’t serving the people, they become meaningless. Creating value and meaning in employees’ lives matters far more than adhering to conventional frameworks that prioritise process over people. I’ve learnt that leading with empathy, listening actively, and genuinely fostering inclusion and fairness are not “soft skills”—they are businesscritical. When people feel seen, heard, and supported, they perform better, stay longer, and contribute positively to the organisation’s culture. Even as we integrate more technology into the workplace, this belief keeps me grounded in the human side of leadership. It reminds me that while tools and systems are important, the heart of any successful organisation is its people, and every HR strategy should reflect that.
