Her mantra remains timeless: clarity of thought, consistency of action. For Rupal, leadership is about building organisations that inspire pride, trust, and progress for all. How? Let us know here.
What has defined your professional journey and shaped you as a leader?
My professional journey has been defined by transitions—beginning as a lawyer and evolving into corporate leadership across operations, strategy, and large-scale, people-driven businesses. I started in security and facilities, grew through multinational turnarounds, and today, at BVG India, focus on scaling impact with a global outlook. At G4S, I served as Regional Legal Counsel for North Africa, the Middle East & South Asia before moving on as Regional Managing Director for the Indian Subcontinent. Later, I became Managing Director for South Asia at OCS Group and then built and led the Integrated Facility Management Services business at Quess Corp. Each role stretched me—whether in governance and stakeholder trust, crisis execution, or embedding purpose into growth. These experiences taught me resilience, the power of listening, and the importance of continuous evolution. Most importantly, I realised leadership is less about authority and more about creating trust, inspiring people, and aligning them to a larger purpose. At BVG, that philosophy is guided by a simple compass: people, performance, and purpose. Titles changed; compass didn’t.
With thousands of rural frontline workers, how do you keep purpose as strong as performance?
At BVG, we believe performance without purpose is incomplete, and purpose is lived daily. Many of our frontline workers come from humble backgrounds, and for them, work is not just a livelihood but dignity. We ensure they understand the larger impact of their contribution — keeping hospitals safe, running power plants smoothly, or supporting citizens during emergencies. Regular training, transparent recognition, and giving them a voice sustain their sense of purpose. When people know why their work matters, performance follows naturally. Purpose isn’t an add-on; it’s the heartbeat of everything we do.
"I kept communication open, enabled quick decision-making, and ensured frontline teams felt supported. Watching them rise reinforced my belief that leadership is about enabling people with confidence and purpose, not directing from the top."
What’s your leadership vision and the one timeless lesson you live by?
For me, it begins with clarity of thought — making choices and giving them a real chance, because change only happens when choices are honoured. My vision is to build organisations that serve society while enabling people to grow with pride and dignity. And the timeless lesson? “Consistency beats intensity. Leadership is not about momentary brilliance but about showing up, staying true to values, and building lasting trust and credibility.”
What has been the toughest leadership test you’ve faced at BVG, and what guided you through it?
Operational challenges have always sharpened us, whether managing massive crowds at large events or mobilising thousands overnight for emergency response. Yet, the toughest test has been leading and driving “change”. True change requires shifting focus from judging the past to building the new, as every change brings fresh opportunity. For me, leadership in such moments is not about forcing acceptance but about taking control of what I can influence, rather than dwelling on what I cannot. Driving change meant multiple functions had to work seamlessly together, and while the scale was daunting, our culture of discipline and collaboration made the difference. I kept communication open, enabled quick decisionmaking, and ensured frontline teams felt supported. Watching them rise reinforced my belief that leadership is about enabling people with confidence and purpose, not directing from the top.
What’s been your biggest contribution to BVG, and which innovations excite you most today?
It is teamwork. We are steering BVG toward becoming an AI-enabled, digitally empowered, and future-ready enterprise. By embedding technology at the core of our operations, we have transformed BVG from a conventional facility management company into a pioneer of intelligent, sustainable solutions. Our move to paperless processes and digitally integrated systems has improved efficiency, strengthened governance, and positioned us as a global benchmark. Among the innovations we are driving, what excites me most today is the deployment of AI-enabled smart maintenance systems. These are shifting infrastructure management from reactive to predictive and preventive strategies— optimising performance, extending asset life, and reducing downtime. Alongside, our wasteto-energy initiatives are redefining sustainability by turning challenges into opportunities for greener growth. Together, these advancements embody BVG’s commitment to a smarter, more sustainable future.
