On Thursday, automotive company Ashok Leyland announced Shenu Agarwal’s appointment as Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
In his role, he will handle the technology department and drive growth & future strategy for the company to achieve the goal of being among the top ten commercial vehicle players globally.
Shenu Agarwal joined Ashok Leyland from Escorts Kubota Ltd., where he was a President and Chief Executive Officer for more than seven years and played a crucial role in the transformation of Escorts. His leadership has guided the organisation in matching the contemporary global design, quality and manufacturing standards. At Leyland, his tenure started with immediate effect.
Speaking of his education and skills, he is an alumnus of NIT, Kurukshetra. He has done MBA from Duke University, USA. Agarwal has diverse experience in Sales, Marketing, Research & Development, Product Management, Strategy and Project management, New Business Startups and Strategic Tie-Ups.
In a statement, Dheeraj Hinduja, Executive Chairman, Ashok Leyland, said ━ “Shenu has a proven track record as a leader from a business conglomerate and is an allrounder, worked in different capacities in many disciplines. He is confident that Shenu will bring a positive change with his skills and experience. “I am optimistic that the company will carve new niches in the mobility sector soon under his stewardship, and I wish him the very best for the future,” Dheeraj added to the statement.
