Naidu Gives TCS Land for 99 Paise to Build IT Hub

Andhra Chief Minister Chandrabhan Naidu has approved the allotment of 21.16 acres of land in Visakhapatnam to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for just 99 paise on lease. The IT giant will set up a massive ₹1,370 crore campus on IT Hill No. 3, which is expected to generate 12,000 jobs.

IT Minister Nara Lokesh first floated the proposal during the visit to the Tata headquarters in Mumbai in October 2024. Encouraging TCS to establish its next major development center in Andhra Pradesh, Lokesh positioned Vizag as a prime location for the tech industry.

In recent times, many discussions were held between the state government and TCS, ultimately leading to the cabinet’s approval of this deal. Besides this, the cabinet also approved giving 87.56 acres in Krishnapatnam Village and 220.81 acres in Nelaturu Village to the Andhra Pradesh Infrastructure Corporation to set up industrial parks.
With the TCS project set to create thousands of high-skilled jobs and inject significant investment, Andhra Pradesh is positioning itself as a strong contender in India’s race to become a global tech destination.
