Amazon India launched Amazon Diagnostics, an at-home healthcare service for booking lab tests, scheduling appointments, and accessing digital reports via the Amazon app.
Initially accessible in Bengaluru, Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Mumbai, and Hyderabad, this service encompasses 450 PIN codes and more than 800 diagnostic tests. Customers have the option to request doorstep sample collection within a 60-minute timeframe and can receive digital reports for routine tests in as little as six hours.
The service partners with Orange Health Labs, enhancing Amazon’s presence in India’s health-tech sector and aiming to integrate everyday services, meeting rising demand for convenient healthcare.
Jayaramakrishnan Balasubramanian, Category Leader for Amazon Medical, stated, “Our goal is to create meaningful experiences that lead to better outcomes.” He noted the diagnostics space is underpenetrated and fragmented, presenting opportunities for unmet needs.
Amazon will provide an end-to-end healthcare service, including tele-consultation, medicine delivery, and accredited testing through Amazon Medical. Balasubramanian addressed competition with incumbents like Dr Lal PathLabs and emphasized Amazon’s focus on proactive healthcare access, noting, “There is substantial room to grow, especially in preventive and routine testing.”

He clarified that Amazon Diagnostics won’t adopt a discount-led approach, stating, “From a pricing perspective, we are not approaching this as a deep discount model.” The service will launch at market price parity, focusing on a superior customer experience.
