Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (L&T) has been awarded a contract of 6,400 MW of new generation capacity for eight thermal Power units from Adani Power Ltd., announced on Monday. The Contract has been categorised under the ultra mega category through L&T, indicating that the order value is more than Rs. 15,000 crores. Adani has placed a power order with L&T Energy’s specialised business vertical, CarbonLite Solutions (LTECLS).
The plan includes setting up eight thermal units, each with a capacity of 8,400 MW, for a total of 6,400 MW of new generation capacity.
The company said the contract includes complete designing, engineering, manufacturing, supply, and commissioning of Boiler-Turbine-Generator (BTG) packages along with the auxiliaries and associated mechanical, electrical, and control & instrumentation systems.

L&T Energy Hydrocarbon’s offshore vertical secured an ultra-mega order from an unnamed Middle Eastern company on July 29. This order involves engineering, procurement, construction, installation, & commissioning of offshore structures along with the existing facilities of upgradation.
L&T also bagged a large construction order from the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority, involving office and residential space construction contracts in Mumbai and Muscat.

This order statement comes days after the announcement that Adani Power received a Letter of Intent from Bihar State Power Generation Co. Ltd. to generate and supply 2,274 MW of electricity to the state from a proposed 2,400 MW thermal power project in Bhagalpur district.
