Chennai To Receive INR 1,000 Cr From Capgemini 

Capgemini, in their press release, announced an investment of INR 1,000 crores in Chennai to build a world-class facility. However, this facility is not just about building a facility; it’s about fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment. Over the next three years, this substantial amount will be used to set up a 5,000-seat capacity facility in Sipcot, Siruseri. This facility, spanning an area of 6 lakh sq ft, will be home to the best minds in the nation, supporting diverse specialist teams in the company, including financial services, engineering, digital, cloud, and AI.

According to the company, the facility will be inaugurated on April 2027 and will boast advanced engineering labs, dedicated pods for customer experience centres, and specialised onboarding rooms. These state-of-the-art features are designed to foster innovation and collaboration. Further, to promote environment-friendly practices, the facility will also include integrated advanced energy and water-efficient technologies, utilise recycled materials and implement rainwater harvesting during the construction.

The VP and Head of Corporate Real Estate Services for APAC and Middle East at Capgemini, Vijay Chandramohan, mentioned, “We are delighted to commence the construction of our new facility in Chennai. This pivotal investment for Capgemini showcases our dedication to innovation and sustainable growth in Tamil Nadu. As a leader that is shaping the future of industry, we are investing in local talent and enhancing the well-being of our communities. This expansion demonstrates our strategic vision and commitment to collaborating with local government efforts to drive the country’s economic growth.

The company also made ambitious promises to develop local talent and pledged to invest INR 3 crores in developing the government schools near the facility. This commitment to nurturing local talent is a testament to Capgemini’s long-term investment in the community. The Minister of Industries in Tamil Nadu, TRB Rajaa, welcomed the move and congratulated the company on launching a state-of-the-art facility. He further mentioned that investments like these reflect the quality of the talent India possesses and also support the long-term vision of the state.
