India’s iPhone export surges in October, strengthening the country’s position as a primary manufacturing centre for the tech giant. iPhone has been exported 3.44 million units, according to data from market analyst firm Canalys, a 40 per cent month-on-month increase from September and a 20 per cent year-on-year increase compared to October 2024.
The United States held the largest share, 61 per cent, of iPhone exports from India, as Foxconn and Tata continue to build their manufacturing expertise and serve the US market.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE), at around 7,04,000 units, continues to grow as a replenishment ahead of holiday cycles.
October brought a sharp increase in India’s exports of iPhone to Russia compared to last month, analysis showed. However, iPhone 16 and 15 models account for the majority of the share among all iPhone variants exported. The positive reception of the new iPhone 17, along with pre-holiday season demand in the US and other Western markets, boosted exports, said Sanyam Chaurasia, Principal Analyst at Canalys.
Earlier this year, in May, India shipped over 11.5 million iPhones to the US, per estimates. Apple made major investments in India’s supply chain during the pandemic, and the effort is proving successful.
