India To Host G20 Summit In September 2023 

From December 2023, India will take charge of the G20 president and will host the summit of administrators of the world’s 20 largest economies in New Delhi during the second week of September 2023. As per the statement released by the Ministry of External Affairs, “The G20 Leaders’ Summit at the level of Heads of State [or] Government is scheduled to be held on 09 and 10 September 2023.”

India will take over the G20 presidency from Indonesia and will hold the presidency from 1 December 2022 to November 30, 2023, and which is going to host the G20 summit in November. 

During its presidency, India will host 200 preliminary and other conferences across the country, starting from December 2022. A workout is already going on to determine appropriate venues ranging from Jammu and Kashmir to Tamil Nadu to host these conferences. 

 India swiped the G20 presidency two times, first with Italy in 2021 and another with Indonesia in 2022.

Indonesia has invited the presidents of Russia and Ukraine to the G20 Summit, which will be placed in Bali on November 15-16. Russia’s participation in preliminary discussions this year has already caused some friction with other member countries.

G20 (The Group of Twenty) is an international organisation comprising the world’s developing economies – Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States are part of it, as is the European Union (EU).

The G20 represents 85% of global GDP, 75% of international commerce, and two-thirds of the world population, making it the pre-eminent platform for worldwide economic cooperation.
