In recent events, Karnataka’s Ministry of Large and Medium Industries office confirmed the investment made by former Srilankan cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan. It was revealed that he would be investing Rs. 1,400 crores in different phases in Badanaguppe, Chamarajanagara district. The initial plan was to invest Rs. 230 crores, which was later revised to Rs. 1,000 crores and will increase to 1,400 crores over the years.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Large and Medium Industries, Muralitharan is making this investment to establish his beverages and confectioneries unit under the brand name “Muttiah Beverages and Confectioneries.” Further, MB Patil, Head of the Ministry of Large and Small Industries, mentioned that 46 acres of land have been allocated for the project and stated that manufacturing will begin by January 2025.
