TATA-Siemens Consortium to Develop Corridor For Pune Metro

A joint venture between TRIL Urban Private Limited (a Tata group company) and Siemens project venture GmbH (a subsidiary of Siemens Financial Service) under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) route will develop the metro corridor from Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar. 

For this project, the joint venture, TATA and Siemens, formed a special company called Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited. 

This elevated metro line would be 23.3 KM will connect Hinjewadi Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park to Shivajinagar via Balewadi. It will be the first metro project in India with 23 stations under the new metro rail policy.   

The association between Siemens AG, Siemens Mobility GmbH, Siemens Limited and Alstom Transport India Limited has been awarded the contract by Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited for the work of the electrical and mechanical systems of the projects. The project is expected to be completed in 39 months, which means more than two years. 

Among other consortiums, Siemens Limited will be part of the project management, turnkey electrification, signalling communications, and dept works for this project. The estimated budget size for Siemens Limited is Rs. 900 crores.
