India’s Goli Soda Fizzes Up Global Markets with Strategic Expansion

India’s traditional beverage, Goli Soda, is witnessing a significant resurgence in key international markets, including the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, and the Gulf, driven by strategic expansion and product reinvention, according to an official statement released on Sunday.

Under a strategic partnership with Fair Exports, India has ensured a steady supply of the beverage—now rebranded as Goli Pop Soda—to Lulu Hypermarket, one of the largest retail chains in the Gulf region, the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) stated.

The statement highlighted that Goli Soda, once a staple in Indian households, is making a strong comeback on the global stage. The beverage, which had nearly disappeared due to the dominance of multinational soft drink companies, is now gaining traction internationally, with successful trial shipments already reaching the US, UK, Europe, and Gulf countries.

A key factor in the beverage’s appeal is its innovative packaging, featuring a unique pop opener that recreates the nostalgic fizzy experience that Indian consumers fondly remember. This rebranding has helped position Goli Pop Soda as a distinct and trendy product, capturing interest in overseas markets.

APEDA emphasised that the growing international demand for Goli Pop Soda demonstrates the potential of Indian homegrown flavours to compete with global brands, creating new opportunities for domestic exports and strengthening India’s presence in the global food and beverage industry.
