Lenovo, a global technology company, aims to increase its India’s business within the next three years, focusing on its Motorola smartphone segment and the high double-digit growth in infrastructure and services. The company’s Asia Pacific President, Amar Babu, believes India is a primary growth market, contributing to its ‘India for the world’ innovation strategy and investing in local talent and capabilities.
Babu said in an interview, “I see India as a growth business, as a growth market for Lenovo worldwide.” He further noted that Lenovo India is one of the fastest-growing markets worldwide for the company, with growth exceeding 20 per cent.”
Lenovo is designing its mainstream server in India, and an important portion of Motorola phone software is developed locally, he added. However, he did not provide specific details on recruiting in India. Instead, noted that Lenovo would continue to add resources ahead of the curve to support business growth.
“And we have India talent not just for our India operations, we have our India talent across all of Lenovo across the world,” Amar Babu said.
