The Defence Ministry of India received bids for the Advanced Multirole Combat Aircraft Programme from seven Indian companies to develop and produce next-generation fighter jets. All the leading manufacturers are vying for the opportunity to participate in this massive project.
According to the insiders, Adani Defence, Tata Advanced Systems Ltd, HAI, Kalyani Strategic Systems, and L&T are among the bidders for the Aircraft Programme. A Sivathanu Pillai, a former missile scientist of the Defence Research and Development Organisation, will evaluate the bids.Â
One of India’s largest military research and development programs has driven a competition between domestic private companies and established public entities. The Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) reported an expression of interest (EOI) in June to pre-qualify Indian companies with the technical expertise to manufacture fighter jets within eight years.
The budget is set at Rs. 15000 crore for prototypes, whereas the final amount will be several lakhs crore. Bidders must demonstrate that they have the technical capability to implement the AMCA design and possess sufficient experience in development, engineering, manufacturing, equipment, and testing, among other relevant areas.

This ambitious mission will involve the development of a new, fifth-generation fighter jet, which will become India’s mainstay aerial platform in the mid-2030s.
